As expected, the speedy midfielder received increased opposition attention last season due to his meteoric rise in 2007, which somewhat quelled his influence. However, Foley’s early-season form was still sufficient to earn selection for Victoria in the Hall of Fame Tribute Match, and with the drafting of Ben Cousins and the blossoming talents of teammates Brett Deledio and Trent Cotchin in the middle, he could benefit from reduced scrutiny.
