GARY MARCH (President)
Gary March was appointed President in November 2005. Mr March was appointed to the board on 1 October 2002, and holds an ex officio position on all board sub-committees. Mr March is a Director of Hopgreen Pty Ltd, Hopgreen UK Ltd, MAK Retail Ltd and GMPC Pty Ltd.


 


 
     





 

MAURICE O'SHANNASSY (Vice President)

Maurice O’Shannassy has been a Director of the company since 22 December 2004.  He sits on a number of sub committees. He has previously worked in the Australian Commonwealth Treasury and for BlackRock Investment Management (and its' antecedents) where he held a number of positions in Europe and Asia and finally as Managing Director of BlackRock Investment Management (Australia) Ltd.  He is currently the Chairman of a financial services company and sits on a number of company boards.  He is also writing a book on the global monetary system.

 

     
CARL WALSH
Carl Walsh is a native of County Clare in Ireland. He is a lawyer by education and a chartered accountant by profession, with over 20 years experience as a business and finance leader both domestically (11 years in Australia) and internationally (Ireland, Luxembourg, Russia, Brazil and US).

Carl has extensive knowledge of the banking, professional services and financial services sectors. Carl is currently Head of Finance at ANZ and previously held leadership roles at Deloitte, Microsoft, General Electric and WHK. He is the Chairman of Special Olympics Victoria which provides sporting opportunities for intellectually disabled people across the state. From a sporting perspective, Carl was a senior Gaelic footballer for 17 years, playing over 300 games for club, county, university and province. He won an Irish Universities premiership in 1988, a County Clare premiership in 1990 and a Munster Provincial premiership in 1992.

 


     

MALCOLM SPEED

Malcolm Speed was appointed to the board in October 2011.  Malcolm is a former barrister and sports administrator. He was CEO of Cricket Australia (1997-2001) and the International Cricket Council (2001-2008) as well as holding senior positions in basketball during the 80's and 90's. He is now occupied in a range of sport-related activities as a university lecturer, consultant, and company director where his appointments include Golf Australia, Victorian Major Events Company and the Coalition of Major Professional and Participation Sports.
 

 
     
JOHN MATTHIES
John Matthies was elected to the board on 29th January 2004.  John is the Chair person of the History & Museum Sub-Committee as well as the Oval Redevelopment Sub-Committee.  John is a Lawyer as well as Chairman & Managing Director of Australian Aged Care Group Pty Ltd who are aged care developers & operators.  Since merging the legal firm of John Matthies & Co in 2011 he is now a consultant to the legal firm of Aitken Partners.

     
ROB DALTON
Robert Dalton was appointed to the board on 9 November 2004. Mr Dalton has been the Clubs Treasurer since 2009, is a member of the Audit Committee, Risk Sub-Committee and Chairman of the Finance Sub-Committee. Mr Dalton is a Senior Audit Partner at Ernst & Young Chartered Accountants a position he has held for 17 years. Rob also holds a number of other Board positions in Not for Profit organisations including Monash University and Hockey Victoria.

     
PEGGY O'NEAL
Peggy joined the board on 12 November 2005. She is presently chair of the Risk and Compliance Sub-Committee and a member of the Finance Sub-Committee. Peggy is also chair of the Tigers in Community Foundation Limited. She is a lawyer and acts as a consultant to Lander & Rogers law firm, having stepped down as a partner of Freehills in 2009. She is also on the board of a number of entities in the financial services sector and was a consultant to the federal government during its review of the superannuation system. Peggy became a fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors in 2008.

     
TONY FREE
Tony Free is a Life Member and former captain of the Richmond Football Club. Mr Free was appointed as a Director on 10 June 2008.




 
     


REX CHADWICK
Rex Chadwick was appointed to the board on 16 December, 2009.  Rex worked in advertising agencies for many years and was Managing Director of a leading agency in Asia. His career in advertising agencies gives him a strong background in advertising and marketing. He is now Managing Director of Chadwick Merchandising Services Pty. Ltd.

Rex is a member of both the Punt Road Utilisation Committee and the History & Tradition Committee, is involved with the club’s Commercial Operations and is a director of the Tigers in Community Foundation Limited.
