Player Appearances

1. Overview

Richmond Football Club recognises the contribution that player appearances can make to community events and initiatives. The Club strives to support the community as much as possible, and makes available a limited number of appearances by its players each year.

An overwhelming number of requests for player appearances are received by the Club each year, and we always looks to fulfil as many requests as possible. All requests for player appearances will be considered, however, unfortunately, the Club is unable to fulfil all submissions.

Players are available for appearances during the months of December – August, on days and times that do not interrupt their training and match-day requirements.
The Club advises that organisers approach player appearances as a possible element to their event/ activity, rather than as a primary focus.

2. Purpose

Richmond Football Club’s player appearances are allocated in a number of ways as follows:
• Club appearances including Community appearances
• AFL appearances
• Special requests

3. Policy

Player appearances are available between the pre-season, November and March and at the Club’s discretion during the 2013 home and away season.

Please note:  No player appearance will be organised for the day prior to a match (AFL & VFL) or for the day after a match (AFL & VFL).

Under the current CBA, our players are designated onecompulsory day off per week and on this day no appearances are to be scheduled.

3.2 School, Auskick, Junior Club requests

Through AFL Victoria all Victorian AFL Clubs are allocated a zone to promote our game for the following types of appearances:
• AFL Auskick centres
• Primary and secondary schools
• Junior football clubs
• Country/regional requests

This is to ensure that the above organisations and institutions have equal and fair access to a player visit.

Note:  At its discretion the Richmond Football Club may approve the request of a player appearance under  extraordinary circumstances to a club, Auskick centre, school etc.
