Richmond star Brett Deledio admitted he felt like a kid going back to school after the long Christmas break, when he walked through the doors at Tigerland today at the start of pre-season training for the Club’s five-year-plus players.

Punt Road Oval back in action  January 14, 2013 9:09 AM

Tigers train on new surface Richmond hit the track for the first time on the new Punt Rd oval surface at the ME Bank centre.

The Tigers had their first training session on the redeveloped Punt Road Oval, at the ME Bank Centre this morning.

The $1.9 million redevelopment was made possible through support for the Club’s Fighting Tiger Fund.

The ‘Roar is Back’ in 2013, become a member of Richmond today.

The oval’s facelift began six months ago, and involved significant work, which included replacing unsuitable soil, installing a new drainage system and irrigation, and laying new turf.

Due to works around the oval still being undertaken, unfortunately there are no open training sessions available for fans.

Richmond is holding an open training session in Pakenham on Australia Day Eve, Friday, January 25, at Toomuc Recreation Reserve. More details will be available soon.
