Talented young Tiger duo Dustin Martin and Brandon Ellis have been named in the inaugural 22under22 team.

The line-up was announced at Tuesday night’s AFL Players Association’s awards function.

22under22 is a new concept that recognises the best 22 young players in the AFL competition, based on AFLPA board nominations and then fan votes.

Martin, 22, had the most consistent season of his four-year league career in 2013, averaging 24.2 disposals per match, 4.8 marks, and kicking 23 goals.

He was ranked fourth overall in the competition for total kicks, fifth for uncontested possessions and 20th for inside-50 entries.

Ellis, 20, had a significant impact in his second season with the Tigers, averaging 18.6 disposals per game, 5.9 marks and scoring 14 goals.

He racked up a career-high 39 touches in the Round 8 win against Melbourne at the MCG.
