Matthew Richardson gives Tiger fans an update on his AFL Fantasy teams and Superboot selections after Round 16.

AFL Fantasy
No, Gary, no!

It’s been four days, so it’s not exactly news to any Fantasy coaches, but the AFL Fantasy equivalent of the apocalypse happened over Round 16.

As I write this, Gary Ablett’s injury is still being diagnosed. Obviously our thoughts are first and foremost with his health and wellbeing as he waits for the results on his shoulder … but as they say, we’ve got a game this weekend, so over 131,000 coaches are going to have to find a replacement. He’s too expensive to leave on the bench, and it’s looking like he’ll be out for an extended period. So I don’t know about you, but Richo’s Racers are going to have some serious trade activity this week.

Doing some fantasy reading over the early part of the week, I am seriously considering Brandon Ellis as Gaz’s replacement. He’s been hitting the tons for the past seven weeks, plus I could do with another Tiger in my line-up. I might have a chat to him this week and make sure he is fully committed to playing for the Racers.

‘Asif’ continues his dominance in the Richmond fan league, though he had a quiet week by his standards with just 2069 points. Jakob and ‘Yellow and black-4’ was this week’s runaway winner on a whopping 2316 points.

Good luck for the Ablett trade, and see you in Round 17.

I‘m coming back! This game is a yo-yo for me!

Drew Petrie has been the talking point of the week after his tussle with Brian Lake, but the bigger news around the Richmond offices is the five goals he bagged for my Superboot team!

It was a great start to my July campaign.

I’ve jumped back to 64th overall – I’m still 24 goals shy of S Springer in first place, so I’m not sure how achievable that is for me to reach… it’s all about the monthly prizes now!
