Inspirational Richmond ruckman Ivan Maric has outlined how the Tigers have been able to turn a poor first half of the season into some significantly better form over the past few rounds.

“It started with the leadership group and ‘Dimma’ (coach Damien Hardwick),” Maric said on 3AW.

“As a leadership  group, we focused a lot on policing and driving the standards, and making sure that everyone was doing them . . .

“We’ve made sure that everyone’s doing the little things correctly – attention to all the details – and then it shows in games, because we’re doing it.”

Maric was crystal clear in his view of what Richmond hoped to get out of the remainder of the 2014 season . . .

“This is the way I’m thinking about it . . . We have got five guaranteed games this year, and we want to win every single one of them,” he said.

“If we’re lucky enough to make finals that’s great, but we don’t want to waste these five games.

“We want to win them, and gain improvement out of them, because we see it as preparation towards Richmond winning premierships.

“Whether it’s this year, or next year, or the year after that, we don’t want to waste any games.”
