Richmond midfielder Daniel Jackson has emerged unscathed from his latest return from injury.

Jackson has endured a frustrating season so far, with injuries robbing him of continuity and limiting him to just 10 appearances at AFL level.

The reigning Jack Dyer Medalist returned from a glute injury to pick up 14 disposals and six tackles in Richmond’s narrow VFL loss to Essendon last Saturday.

And whether it’s this week or not, Jackson is still eyeing off senior action before the season is finished.

“I’d love to get myself back out there.  It’s been a frustrating year with inconsistency through injury,” Jackson said.

“I got through a full game in the VFL.  I don’t know if I quite did enough to get in.

“It’s a tough side to crack into at the moment.  If I need to go around again, there’s a game at Punt Road which I’ll look forward to playing in.

“It’d be great to make my way back into the side, but otherwise I’m patient, and my body is feeling a lot better than it has all year, which is good.”

A less-than-ideal pre-season saw Jackson miss the opening two games of the 2014 season, but he returned in Round 3 and strung together eight-straight matches, before succumbing to a hip injury.

After four weeks out, he resumed in Round 16, however just a week later he was back on the sidelines.

Richmond’s VFL team plays its final home-and-away game of the 2014 season this Sunday, against Footscray at the ME Bank Centre, from 1pm.
