Three Richmond players have been selected in the 2014 All-Australian squad of 40.

Key defender Alex Rance, and midfield pairing Brandon Ellis and Dustin Martin were selected in the squad, announced by the AFL today.

The squad includes 26 players to have never been honoured with All-Australian selection, including each of the Tiger trio.

The All Australian selection panel is Gillon McLachlan (chairman), Kevin Bartlett, Luke Darcy, Mark Evans, Danny Frawley, Glen Jakovich, Cameron Ling, Matthew Richardson and Warren Tredrea.

The final 22 player team will be announced on Monday September 16.
