In the second of a special post-season series, focusing on 14 key findings from Richmond’s 2014 season, richmondfc.com.au looks at the Tigers’ star spearhead Jack Riewoldt.

No. 2:  Jack Riewoldt underlined his impressive goalkicking consistency.

For the fifth season in-a-row, Riewoldt topped the 50-goal milestone, which is a feat only one other player in Richmond’s proud history has been able to achieve – the great Jack ‘Skinny’ Titus, who is the Tigers’ greatest goalkicker (970 goals).

Riewoldt scored 78 goals in 2010, 62 in 2011, 65 in 2012, 58 in 2013, and finished with 61 in the 2014 season.

The dual Coleman Medallist has now kicked a total of 381 goals in 157 games for Richmond, and he’s moved into seventh place on the Club’s all-time goalkicking ladder.

Given the fact Riewoldt will be only 26 years old throughout the 2015 season, you’d expect him to jump several rungs higher in the coming seasons.

This season, Riewoldt booted three goals or more nine times, with an outstanding, career-high return of 11 goals coming in the Round 10 clash with Greater Western Sydney at Spotless Stadium.

He was unstoppable that late May Saturday afternoon in Sydney, leading strongly, pulling down 12 marks, and scoring 11.2 from his 17 disposals in a sublime goalkicking display.

Riewoldt took the most marks of any Richmond player in season 2014 (136), the most contested marks (28) and the most marks inside-50 (89).

And, he was ranked equal No. 1 at Tigerland for goal assists (18), which further shows the immense value he provides as the ‘pea’ in the team’s forward line.
