A 50-metre boundary line bomb from Brandon Ellis has been voted the sixth best goal of the year by Richmond fans.

In the opening minutes of the Tigers’ Round 2 clash against Carlton at the MCG, Ellis received a handpass on the wing from Shaun Grigg, and launched the ball inside 50 in the direction of Jack Riewoldt.

Riewoldt gathered and handballed to Jake King, who passed on to Ellis, after he followed up his earlier work up the ground.

Running at full speed toward the boundary line, Ellis set sail for goal with a long floating kick which cleared the pack on the goal line.

The number five goal of the year, as voted by Richmond fans, will be revealed on Monday, September 22.
