Richmond’s star spearhead, Jack Riewoldt, was reasonably satisfied with the consistency he displayed throughout the 2014 season, but has his sights firmly set on taking his game to a higher level in 2015.

Riewoldt finished the season with 61 goals – the fifth year in-a-row he’s kicked 50 goals or more – and a highly-respectable fifth placing in the Jack Dyer Medal.

“I started to get my hands on the ball a bit more, got a few more marks inside 50, but for mine, it’s trying not to have the huge games every four or five weeks.  It’s trying to find that level balance, where ‘Dimma’ (Damien Hardwick) can bank on me kicking three or four goals every week,” Riewoldt told Tiger great Matthew Richardson in a special ‘Roar Vision’ interview.

“Getting my three or four, making sure I make the most of my opportunities, but then providing, defensively, really strong tackle efforts, and also creating a contests for guys like ‘Lloydy’ (Sam Lloyd), ‘Lids’ (Brett Deledio), Shane Edwards, Nathan Gordon – those smaller types – to kick crumbing goals as well.

“I think I had a bit of a flat part during the season, finished well when, obviously, the side was playing well, too.

“So, a season, probably, where I did my job to maybe a B standard.

“I know that I’ve got another step to go to become a really consistent AFL player.”
