Shaun Grigg underlined his valuable versatility for Richmond in last Saturday’s clash with Geelong at the MCG . . .

The hard-running 27-year-old was assigned the difficult task of running with the Cats’ inspirational captain Joel Selwood at the start of the match.

Grigg did a fine job in nullifying Selwood’s influence, keeping him to just eight touches in the first half, before being moved into a more attacking role for the Tigers.

“He did a really good job, ‘Grigga’,” Tiger assistant coach Greg Mellor said on ‘The Richmond Review’.

“We moved him off (Selwood) as well, because he was one of the guys who was giving us the run that we needed to get going.

“So, he was released from that job, and he was able to provide us with a bit of offensive run.”
