Richmond is one of nine AFL clubs whose Dreamtime guernseys will include the Recognise logo during Indigenous round.

Recognise is a people’s movement to acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in the Australian Constitution, and ensure there’s no place in it for racial discrimination.

The current Constitution makes no mention of the first 40,000-plus years of our country’s history and the people who forged it. And it still has sections that allow race discrimination – like Section 25, which says the States can ban people from voting based on their race.

Richmond, the AFL, and a number of other Clubs, have thrown their support behind the movement in recent years.

Tigers’ midfielder Shane Edwards features alongside Indigenous stars Adam Goodes and Shaun Burgoyne in a new TV commercial, aiming to raise awareness of the Recognise campaign.
