With 12 goals from just eight games this season, talented, tall Tiger forward Ty Vickery will be a welcome addition to the Richmond line-up for Friday night’s big clash with Hawthorn at the MCG.

Vickery has completed a two-match suspension handed down by the AFL’s Match Review Panel, arising from a rough conduct charge in the Round 15 victory over Carlton.

The Tigers’ coach Damien Hardwick is extremely pleased that he’ll have Vickery back out there to boost the team’s strike-power up forward against the Hawks.

“He’s a goalkicker, so he’ll slot back in,” Hardwick said.

“He’s an important player for us.

“We like what he performs up forward, but he’s capable around the ground also.”

Hardwick is confident Vickery will be ready to fire following his two-week stint on the sidelines, and he’s hoping he can now get some continuity with his football.

“We got a little bit of work into him from a physicality point of view.  But, ideally, we’d love him on the park,” he said.

“Our thing with Ty is he does tread a fine line, and the majority of those aggressive players do.

“We’d prefer him to be on the footy field helping us, rather than on the sidelines.

“He probably knows he owes us a couple of big games, and hopefully this is one of the weeks he repays that.”
