Richmond’s General Manager of Football Dan Richardson has praised the brave effort of the Tigers’ captain Trent Cotchin, to play out almost the entire game against Port Adelaide at the MCG last Saturday night with a broken cheekbone.

Cotchin suffered the injury during the opening minutes of the match, but played on under duress, in a determined bid to do whatever he could to help his side.

“We didn’t know about it until after the game, so that shows how courageous it was,” Richardson said on Triple M.

“He didn’t put his hand up to come off the ground . . .

“We all know how much criticism at times Trent’s copped from the footy world, but all I would say is what he went through last night, what he did last night, shows the courage of the man and shows what a great leader he is for this footy club.

“We just need to get a few more to come along and follow his lead.”
