Richmond pair Nick Vlastuin and Dylan Grimes will push for selection in Friday night’s Round 7 match against Hawthorn at the MCG.

Grimes sustained a 'rare and unusual' hamstring tendon injury, called semitendinosus, when the Tigers played Collingwood in Round 2, while Vlastuin has been sidelined with a knee injury since Round 4.

Richmond Physical Performance Manager Peter Burge said the defenders would push for senior selection this week.

“Nick’s available, he’ll fully train tomorrow (Tuesday) so I expect him to be playing football this week,” Burge said.

“Dylan resumed kicking last week, he’s been running fast for over a week now and on the weekend did some kicking on the run.

“Tomorrow (Tuesday) we’re expecting him in with the group doing a full training (session) and hopefully selection for this week.”

Burge said Reece Conca had resumed full training and was on track to return from a hamstring injury in Round 8.

Tigers star Brett Deledio featured in his first senior hit-out for the year against Port Adelaide on Saturday and got through unscathed.

“Brett, he’s a little bit sore, just from the game, he hasn’t played football in quite a while…” Burge said.

“He’s come in today (Monday) and he’s moving ok. We’re on a short turnaround this week so he’ll have a fairly light week given it was his first game and we’ll get him going later in the week.”
