Reliable Richmond backman Dylan Grimes is steadily finding form following an interrupted start to the 2016 season.

Grimes, who missed five games with a hamstring injury he sustained in the Round 2 loss to Collingwood, was a valuable contributor in the Tigers’ 38-point ‘Dreamtime at the ‘G’ victory over Essendon last Saturday.

He finished with 17 disposals (his equal most in a match since 20 against Adelaide in Round 14, 2012), including eight contested possessions, a game-high nine intercepts, four rebound-50s, four score involvements, and took six marks.

Those statistics show how he managed to successfully combine both the defensive and offensive aspects of his game to the team’s benefit.

“It’s just good to be back in the side, to be honest,” Grimes told ‘Roar Vision’ in the rooms post-game.

“We’ve got some defenders and some midfielders that are rotating through the backline in some really good form at the moment.

“So, it’s great to come back in just as the wheel’s started to turn . . .

“I’ve been loving my footy the last few weeks, and looking forward to the rest of the season, for sure.”
