Richmond captain Trent Cotchin believes the Tigers will make substantial gains from their last-quarter fightback against Gold Coast at the MCG last Sunday, which led to their fifth win of the season.

Midway through the final term, Richmond trailed by 15 points, before unleashing an impressive burst of football that resulted in it kicking six of the last seven goals of the match, to secure a 17-point victory.

Cotchin played a significant role in the comeback, racking up a dozen disposals during the last quarter, as he worked tirelessly to lift the Tigers.

“For a group to be a couple of goals down, then show that fight, and win, is obviously a credit.  It doesn’t matter who the opposition is, it’s always hard to do,” Cotchin said on the ABC’s ‘AFL Grandstand’.

“We had a really disappointing third quarter there (scoring just 1.2 to Gold Coast’s 5.4), which isn’t how we want to play.  But we were good enough to turn it around in that last quarter.

“Being challenged, and coming out the other side, is a really good thing for our group.
