Ty Vickery’s left-foot floater against Brisbane has been voted the ninth best goal of the 2016 season by Richmond fans.

With just over three minutes remaining before half-time in the Round 14 game against the Lions at the MCG, Vickery’s goal extended the Tigers lead to 38 points.

An attempted clearing kick from the Lions was smothered by Kane Lambert allowing captain Trent Cotchin to knock the ball on to Vickery who was hemmed in the forward pocket at the Punt Road End.

Vickery threw the ball on his opposite foot, sending it across his body and sailing unorthodoxly through the goals, before turning to the Tiger Army with a baffled reaction.

The eighth and seventh goal of the year, as voted by Richmond fans, will be revealed tomorrow, Tuesday September 20.
