A dazzling left-foot snap by smart small forward Sam Lloyd, in Richmond’s nine-point, opening round victory over Carlton at the MCG, has been voted the Tigers’ second best goal of season 2016 by the Yellow and Black faithful.

With Richmond trailing the previous year’s wooden-spooner by three points, midway through the last quarter, and an upset looming, Lloyd produced something special, to provide his team with a timely boost.

A high ball was delivered into the Tigers’ forward line at the Punt Road end of the ground, where Lloyd was nestled among a large pack of players.

In the midst of the frantic action, Lloyd somehow managed to gather possession of the ball.  He then faked a handball, spun his way around Carlton captain Marc Murphy, found sufficient space, cleverly guided the ball on to his left boot, and watched it sail through for full points, much to the delight of the Tiger Army.
