Richmond’s recruitment of four teenagers in the recent national and rookie drafts, means there’s now a combined total of 19 players aged 22 or under at Tigerland (on both the senior and rookie lists).

The Tigers’ department of youth comprises (in surname alphabetical order):  Shai Bolton (turns 18 this week), Dan Butler (20), Jason Castagna (20), Mabior Chol (20), Corey Ellis (20), Nathan Drummond (21), Ryan Garthwaite (18), Jack Graham (18), Ben Lennon (21), Oleg Markov (20), Kamdyn McIntosh (22), Connor Menadue (20), Callum Moore (20), Toby Nankervis (22), Daniel Rioli (19), Jayden Short (20), Ivan Soldo (20), Tyson Stengle (18) and Nick Vlastuin (22).

You can come up with a fairly handy starting 18 line-up, too, from that list of Tiger cubs (eg) . . .

HB:  Vlastuin, Chol, Drummond
C:  Markov, C. Ellis, McIntosh

At the other end of the age scale, the only player at Richmond more than 30 years of age, is ruckman Ivan Maric, who turns 31 in January.

Next oldest is fellow ruckman Shaun Hampson, who turns 29 next March.

In terms of overall games experience going into season 2017, Richmond is ranked 11th among all AFL clubs.  The Tigers have an average of 62 games.
