Richmond’s VFL team registered the third-highest score ever by a Tigers’ reserve-grade side in last Sunday’s mammoth opening round victory over North Ballarat at Punt Road.
And the winning margin of 188 points was the second-highest ever by the Club’s reserves.

The final score of 33.21 (219) surpassed the 31.18 (204) against North Melbourne in 1981 and the 32.19 (211) v Fitzroy in 1966.
It was just seven points short of the second-highest score by a Richmond reserves team – 34.22 (226), against South Melbourne in 1973.
The highest-ever total recorded by the Tiger ‘twos’ is 37.30 (252) against Geelong at Punt Road in 1947, with Frank Bourke, father of Club ‘Immortal’ Francis Bourke, kicking 13 goals that day.
Richmond defeated the Cats in that match by 241 points, which is the reserve-grade team’s all-time, biggest winning margin.
