Richmond equalled a Club record dating back half a century with its 26-point victory over Carlton at the MCG last Sunday.

It was the Tigers’ sixth successive win against their arch rivals – the second time they’ve accomplished the same success sequence feat in the long history of on-field battles between the two clubs.

They previously beat the Blues six times in-a-row from 1965-68.

Richmond’s current six-game winning streak against Carlton started in Round 2 of the 2014 season, when it emerged victorious by 12 points.

The complete list of Tiger triumphs over the Blues from 2014-17 is:

  • Round 2, 2014 – won by 12 points.
  • Round 1, 2015 – won by 27 points.
  • Round 15, 2015 – won by 30 points.
  • Round 1, 2016 – won by nine points.
  • Round 1, 2017 – won by 43 points.
  • Round 14, 2017 – won by 26 points.

Richmond has not lost to Carlton since the 2013 elimination final.

But the Tigers have a long way to go to catch the Blues’ best winning run against them, which is a staggering 24 games on-the-trot, from 1908-18.
