Shaun Grigg’s reputation as a valuable, consistent performer for Richmond was further enhanced at Etihad Stadium last Saturday night, despite the Tigers suffering a disappointing 67-point loss to St Kilda.

Grigg worked extremely hard right throughout the four quarters in a determined bid to lift the team against the Saints’ domination.

The experienced, hard-running midfielder finished the match with a team-high 29 disposals, eight marks, five inside-50s, three rebound-50s, one goal, nine score involvements, an equal team-high five tackles and a team-high 452 metres gained.

It was the ninth game in-a-row that Grigg has accumulated 20-plus disposals.

You have to go all the way back to Richmond’s Round 6 loss to Adelaide at Adelaide Oval for the last time Grigg didn’t have at least 20 touches in a match. On that occasion, he finished with 17.

He is averaging 24.3 per disposals per game this season and 6.3 marks.

Competition-wide, he is ranked equal third for inside-50 entries with 79, which places him nine behind joint leaders in this category, teammate Dustin Martin and Geelong’s Patrick Dangerfield.

Grigg also is ranked 23rd in the competition for total marks with 94.
