Josh Caddy had an instant impact in his 2017 opening round debut game for Richmond, kicking a clever goal that has now been voted by Yellow and Black barrackers as the third best by a Tiger player this year.

With the Tigers holding a comfortable 32-point lead over Carlton early in the last quarter of the traditional Round 1 blockbuster at the MCG, Caddy’s superstar teammate Dustin Martin gathered the ball deep in defence and launched a good, old-fashioned, towering torpedo punt from the back of the centre square that sailed all the way into Richmond’s forward-50 area.

Caddy, who was one-out with Blues opponent Sam Rowe, managed to pressure him out of the contest, then smartly and skilfully soccered the ball off the ground and watched it roll over the goal line for the match-sealer, much to the delight of the Tiger Army.

The second best and ultimate Richmond goal of the year, as voted on by Tiger fans, will be revealed tomorrow, Friday, October 27.
