Two constitutional amendments were approved at Monday night’s Annual General Meeting.

The Corporations Act previously provided that an Extraordinary General Meeting could be called at the request of the lesser of 5% or 100 voting members.  In 2015, the Corporations Act was amended to remove the reference to 100 members.

Accordingly, the amendments passed with a special majority at Monday night’s 2017 Annual General Meeting are now consistent with the current law governing corporations in Australia, specifically, that the calling of an EGM requires the request of 5% of the voting members.

The other amendment to the Club’s constitution was to alter the provisions governing the awarding of life memberships. All Richmond premiership players are now entitled to life membership.
