Richmond forward Josh Caddy has won this year’s Ian Stewart Medal.

With forward partner Jack Riewoldt out of the match early with concussion, Caddy was the Tigers' main avenue to goal as he finished with a career-high six majors from 24 possessions, as well as laying an equal game-high seven tackles.

Caddy (8 votes) outpolled teammate Trent Cotchin (seven), as well as St Kilda pair Jade Gresham (two) and Jack Steven (one).

The Ian Stewart Medal is a tribute to the only player in league football history to win a Brownlow Medal and premiership at two clubs.

It’s the first time Caddy has taken out this prestigious individual award.
