Young draftee Fraser Turner plans to take in as much wisdom as he can from two Tiger veterans, Shaun Grigg, Richmond’s eldest player, and senior captain Trent Cotchin.

A long-time admirer of both, Turner said he is thrilled for the opportunity to be guided by the two, in the hopes of one day emulating their expertise.

“I’m going to try and learn off Shaun Grigg and Trent Cotchin a lot,” Turner said.

“They’re the sort of players that I want to be when I get a bit older and build a bit of a body.”

At the tender age of 17, Turner becomes the youngest member of the Tiger clan, after just scraping into the draft with his Boxing Day birthday.

A wingman renowned for his elite endurance, Turner believes his high football IQ will pave the way for a successful transition into the AFL.

“The way I read the play and get myself into smart spots, I think that makes a pretty smart way to get the ball,” he said.

“It’s been awesome just to get around the club and meet all the players…soak it all in…and just learn as much as I can.”
