Player Bio

The game’s pre-eminent superstar, Martin scooped the pool in 2017 by becoming the first player to win the Brownlow Medal, Norm Smith Medal and a premiership in the same year.

The explosive midfielder drove his team through the finals with a series of excellent performances and won his second consecutive Jack Dyer Medal.

Can turn a game off his own boot with his explosive bursts from stoppages and has the ability to push forward and win one-on-one contests. A nightmare for opponents, he is the hardest player in the AFL to tackle with his trademark ‘don’t argue’.

Player honours: Brownlow Medal 2017; 3rd Brownlow Medal 2016; best and fairest 2016, 2017; 2nd best and fairest 2013, 2015; 3rd best and fairest 2011, 2014; Norm Smith Medal 2017; All-Australian 2016, 2017; All-Australian nominee 2014, 2015; AFLPA MVP 2017; AFLCA Player of the Year 2017; NAB AFL Rising Star nominee 2010; premiership side 2017.
Brownlow Medal: 2017 votes 36; career votes 134.
Draft history: 2009 NAB AFL Draft 1st round selection (Richmond) No. 3 overall.
