After realising the club needed a frontline ruckman, Richmond claimed the Adelaide big man during the 2011 trade period. Had played only six games for the Crows that year, but flourished at Richmond, where he quickly established himself as the first-choice ruckman.

Brought aggression, physicality and a much-admired mullet to Punt Rd and was probably the most dominant big man in the competition during the first half of the season. Battled manfully during the second half of the Tigers’ campaign as a groin injury took its toll, but still finished third in the best and fairest.
