Following the storm of publicity surrounding his return to the AFL, Cousins’ lack of a full pre-season told in round one last year, with his hamstring failing under the strain. However, from then on the former Eagle could not be faulted, averaging 24 possessions from his 15 games and providing leadership on and off the field.
