After a mixed first half of 2009, the No. 1 draft pick steeled himself to become more accountable as a genuine midfielder, with the club loath to offer the option of a release to defence or attack. The result was a superb finish to the season and his second straight best and fairest award. Topped the Tigers for loose-ball gets (69) and inside 50s (99) and, having signed on until the end of 2012, is a huge part of the club’s future.
