Last year’s niggling injuries and form fluctuation cast doubts on the veteran ruckman’s future, but the club showed its faith in the off-season by giving him a one-year contract extension. The Tigers are optimistic about Simmonds’ finish to 2009 and believe he is much better placed to attack this season. Adds valuable experience to a young ruck division.�
