The talented mid-sized forward overcame demotion to the VFL and criticism of his decision-making in Richmond’s heartbreaking loss to Port Adelaide in round eight to finish as the Tigers’ leading goalkicker in 2009. Improved his defensive efforts as the year progressed and, with continued focus in this area, he could be a key in the club’s front half for many years to come.

Player honours: leading goalkicker 2009.

Previous AFL club: West Coast (2005-07: 12 games, 11 goals).

Draft history: 2004 NAB AFL Draft 3rd round father-son selection (West Coast) No. 44 overall; 2007 NAB AFL Draft traded by West Coast for No. 35 (Sam Reid).
