Punt Road Oval Redevelopment

Richmond Football Club has officially launched the construction of the $20 million redevelopment of Punt Road Oval.

The new facility, due for completion in 2010, will bring the club's football department to the elite in the AFL, as well as provide access for members of the community.

Among its features will be a community gym, indoor sports centre, meeting rooms, lecture theatre and a new museum.

The Federal Government has also contributed $6.75 million for the construction of the Australian Institute for Indigenous Learning and Skills Development, which will look at ways to close the gap for indigenous students and young people.
