RICHMOND coach Terry Wallace has hailed his side's three-point victory over Brisbane at the Telstra Dome on Saturday night as "a great win".

The Tigers were ahead at half time despite playing some ordinary footy, but fell in a hole in the third term to give up six goals and fall behind by 31 points.

But the last goal of the third and the first six of the last saw them lead by two goals. Brisbane then kicked a couple to go back into the lead before two Tiger goals in the last four minutes saw them win another nail-biter and keep their finals hopes alive.

Wallace sounded just like Geelong coach Mark Thompson on Friday night after his side got over Hawthorn when he praised the spirit of his troops as the defining factor.

"It was a great win in the fact that it was probably nearly gone a couple of times," he said. "That's why I thought it was a great win – the blokes just refused to allow it to be gone, and to me that's the most pleasing aspect of the win.

"The spirit was great. We played in the game last week where we just got over the line but in different circumstances – we probably controlled the game last week for most of the game, where this week we looked out of it, probably on a couple of occasions.

"To be able to come back and get ourselves back into the game, having a seven-goal or so turnaround, to work our way back into the match, and then to lose that sway again, and then be able to come back again, is really pleasing."

Wallace admitted he was unhappy with the first three terms, despite the Tigers being well in it at half time, saying it wasn't just the third term that let the side down.

"To be honest, I didn't think it was one quarter, this one. I didn't think we played well for the first three quarters.

"I clearly wasn't pleased at all going to any of the quarter time, half time or three-quarter time huddles, with the group.

"I just didn't think we had played a great game of footy."
