Richmond is expecting star midfielder Dustin Martin to be available for this weekend’s clash against Sydney.

Martin missed last Sunday’s win against St Kilda with a minor hamstring injury.

"He's had it (hamstring tightness) for the past two weeks, hence why he has been playing forward a little bit more," coach Damien Hardwick said after the win over St Kilda.

"He could have played ... we probably thought we were able to win [and] possibly give him a rest.

"He'll come back in next week, which is obviously important to our side.

“We lacked another two goal, three goal player (against the Saints), which Dusty is.”

Key forward Tyrone Vickery will also be available, after completing a four-match suspension.

But Hardwick said fellow key forward Ben Griffiths' encouraging form in Vickery's absence meant Richmond's selectors had a tough decision to make.

"Ben's been very good, another two goals today, taken some really strong contested marks,” Hardwick said.

“Prior to Ty's indiscretion I thought he was in really good form too and he's been training the house down.

"We've got to see whether we can fit [both of them and Jack Riewoldt] in because they're a big side, Sydney."
