Containing Adelaide’s dangerous small forward duo of Eddie Betts and Charlie Cameron, along with its star spearhead skipper Taylor Walker, will be high on Richmond’s agenda in Friday night’s Round 19 encounter at Adelaide Oval.
Betts (42 goals), Cameron (20 goals) and Walker (39 goals) are a prime reason why the Crows are currently ranked sixth in the competition for total points scored.
“Adelaide like to really come up the ground and leave plenty of space out the back because they’ve got players like (Eddie) Betts and (Charlie) Cameron,” Richmond development coach Max Bailey said on this week’s edition of ‘The Spotlight’.

“But we’ll back in our back six because they’ve done a great job all year. And, our scouts would have seen this stuff (the way Adelaide play), and they’ll have a plan in place for it.
“We’ll look to keep Betts up the ground.
“If he’s getting touches up around the wing it’s not as damaging, obviously . . .
“With Taylor Walker, he’s such a big imposing figure, so even if he’s a little bit out of form he’s still a dangerous player,” Bailey said.
“Being captain, if he gets going, it probably gets the crowd and the rest of his side going.
“But ‘Rancey’ (star Richmond key defender Alex Rance) has had a great year. Everyone’s talking about him being All-Australian, and fair enough too.”
