The resurgence of spirited Richmond small defender Steve Morris at the game’s highest level continues . . .

Morris, who was dropped to the VFL following the Tigers’ Round 3 loss to Adelaide at Etihad Stadium, has typically, tenaciously, worked his way into some impressive form at AFL level over the past few weeks.

He had 14 disposals in last Saturday night’s ‘Dreamtime’ victory over Essendon, including an equal game-high six rebound-50s, eight intercepts, four score involvements and a total of 307 metres gained.

Steve’s playing a really good role,” Morris’ Tiger teammate Ty Vickery said on ‘ABC Grandstand’.

It’s tough to find lockdown defenders.  There are not too many in the competition that do it really well.

His ability to come at the ball and impact the contest is really good.

He took a couple of chop-out marks as well last night (Saturday night), which are really valuable.
