A quarter-by-quarter analysis of Richmond’s 2019 season reveals the overall evenness that led to the Tigers’ premiership triumph.

Richmond outscored its opposition in 64 out of a total of 100 quarters from 25 games throughout the season, but there was only a difference of two wins from the best-performed to worst-performed quarters.

First and second terms were the Tigers’ best for the season, with 17 wins apiece. In terms of third and fourth quarters, it was 15 wins each.

During Richmond’s mighty 12-game winning streak, from Round 15 v St Kilda to the Grand Final v Greater Western Sydney, it won eight first quarters, 10 second quarters, nine third quarters and 10 final quarters.

That’s 37 quarters won out of a combined total of 48, which equates to an impressive, overall winning strike-rate of 77.1 percent.
