Richmond will play Geelong in Saturday night's 2020 AFL Grand Final at the Gabba, after the Cats proved too good for Brisbane, winning by 40 points in their preliminary final clash tonight.

The Tigers won through to the Grand Final after defeating Port Adelaide by six points in a thrilling encounter at the Adelaide Oval on Friday night.

Dustin Martin (21 disposals, two goals) was heroic in every facet of the game, while a late rear-guard stand lead by Toby Nankervis and Kane Lambert ensured a Grand Final ticket was ultimately booked.

It will be the third time in VFL/AFL history the two clubs have met in a Grand Final, and the first since Richmond's drought-breaking 1967 premiership.

This year, unlike previous years, there will be an on-sale only for Grand Final tickets with no ballot taking place. All eligible Club members will receive an email Sunday, October 18 with confirmed details about the Grand Final on-sale, set to take place on Monday, October 19.
