Marlion Pickett will play in tonight's season-opener against Carlton.

Dual premiership player Marlion Pickett has been named in Richmond's final 22 for tonight's season-opener against Carlton.

Pickett, who featured in last weekend's VFL practice match win over Essendon, replaces Trent Cotchin in the team that was named last night.

Richmond's three-time premiership-winning captain will miss the match through illness.

Jack Ross has been named as the Club's first 'medical substitute', and will take to the field for the first time since Round 18, only if the club Doctor assesses an injured or concussed player as 'medically unfit' to continue in the match.
