Martin takes out Ian Stewart Medal

Dustin Martin has taken home his second Ian Stewart Medal on Sunday afternoon, after being voted best afield in Richmond’s 33-point win over St Kilda at Marvel Stadium.

Dusty rewarded for captain’s game

Dustin Martin’s strong performance in his first game as Richmond’s captain, against Adelaide at Adelaide Oval last Thursday night was acknowledged in the Round 13 voting for the prestigious AFL Coaches’ Association’s Player of the Year award.

Player Bio

It was always going to be hard for Martin to equal his 2017 standards, let alone surpass them.

The numbers say he won less of the ball last season, but was equally as damaging in attack, which is why he remained such a weapon that could be deployed to shatter a team’s defence when needed.

Still made the All-Australian team because of his eye-catching ability to explode through the midfield and finished top in the AFL for scoring involvements, centre clearances and inside 50s. Is contracted until the end of 2024.
