Richmond has added five players to its extended squad for Sunday afternoon's Round 16 match against West Coast at the MCG.

Important midfielder Kane Lambert is in line to return after missing last weekend's match against Geelong as he manages his ongoing hip issue.

"He's a chance. We'll see how he trains (on Thursday). He gives me an indication of how he's feeling," Tigers coach Damien Hardwick said on Thursday morning.

Jason Castagna, Jake Aarts and Rhyan Mansell and Sydney Stack could also be recalled to the senior side after impressing at VFL level last weekend.

Castagna (13 disposals, nine tackles, four inside-50s, three goals) and Stack (16 disposals, six inside-50s, eight tackles, four marks, one goal) were vital contributors in the VFL Tigers' come-from-behind win.

Aarts booted two goals and collected 23 disposals, in what Richmond VFL coach Steve Morris described as a "hard, tough, uncompromising" performance.

"He led us for contested possessions, took his opportunities in front of goal, and was really desperate when it counted. Fantastic effort from him," Morris said. 

Mansell had 17 disposals, seven marks and five tackles in a solid outing. 

"He stood up when it really counted. He had half a dozen crucial contests in the last quarter to thwart the opposition," Morris said of Mansell.

Out of the side is star midfielder Dion Prestia, who suffered a concussion in Richmond's Round 15 game, and first-year Tiger Judson Clarke, who has been omitted.

Richmond will confirm its starting 22 tomorrow night at 5.00pm AEST.

The Club will then name its medical substitute 60 minutes prior to the bounce on Sunday. 

Sunday’s game will be broadcast live on FOX FOOTY and Kayo from 3pm.
