Monique Conti's accolades list is as long and impressive as they come.

But it's not her 2023 AFLW Best and Fairest, or her six Tigers Best and Fairest awards, that leaves her beaming with pride.

It's her Richmond Players' Player award that means the most to the star midfielder.

"Winning the Best and Fairest is great, but that's purely based on my performance on track and what the coaches see, which I'm very grateful for. I'm honoured to receive those awards," Conti said on the Moments That Make Us podcast.

"But I think what makes me feel even more special is being nominated by your teammates as a 'players' player'. It goes beyond your performance on field.

"That's one (award) that stands out."

Yet, it's impossible to ignore just how decorated Conti's career has been, and she puts down the personal success to the juggling act between football and real life.

"Balance is really important," Conti said.

"I'm never comfortable, I'm never content. Working on my craft all the time, having good balance between life and football.

"I've got so much more football to give and so much more potential to give."

Another accolade that stands out for Conti is her inaugural Richmond AFLW Life Membership, because of the weight the award carries in the context of her career.

"That's another individual moment I really like. It's pretty awesome. I probably won't realise how cool it is until I retire," she said.

"Being put in that category, while still playing, is surreal. I'm really honoured. Richmond Football Club has such a rich history and to be part of that is really special.

"I don't even have many words for it."

Away from football, Conti was a decorated basketballer. However, after recently giving up her spot in the Women's National Basketball League, she's throwing herself into her studies and football.

The 25-year-old is currently studying psychology at Swinburne University, but is keen to explore other pathways as she broadens her life alongside AFLW.

"I don't know what I'm going to do. Teaching is a path I'll take. I'm interesting in coaching," Conti said.

And while she may not have it all set in stone just yet, one thing is for certain when it comes to Conti.

Family is her everything.

"Family comes first. They're my biggest supporters, so why wouldn't they be?," Conti said.

"They've done a lot for me. We've got a close family."
