Richmond has recruited exciting small forward Chris Scerri to its VFL ranks for the 2026 season, following a standout season with the Northern Bullants and Strathmore, that included a premiership.
At just 19-year-old, Scerri joins the Tigers with an impressive footballing resume, including playing 18 senior games with the Bullants last season.
His agility and ability to find the ball also resulted in the youngster earning the Bullants' W.K Deacon Award, as the Club's best first-year player in 2025.
Scerri averaged 12.4 disposals with the Bullants, and kicked five goals, working on his defensive forward craft, which he hopes to continue to build at Richmond next year.
"I've got a bit of speed under my belt. My defensive acts are what catches the eye, in terms of my pressure. And my ability to take the game on with my speed," Scerri told Richmond Media.
The journey to reach the Swinburne Centre was one that Scerri was keen on for months, but he wanted to finish off his local footballing feats before making the move.
"I played finals footy at Strathmore, and luckily, we won the flag there. I was certain about Richmond and their good facilities and unreal program. I wanted to give this a shot at an (AFL) aligned Club and put my best foot forward," Scerri said.
"I can't be any more excited in terms of my development opportunities here. I have so much potential and so much more to give.
"I know the resources around here - the coaching staff, players and culture - is going to be make me a 10-times better player and drive the standards for me to make me more competitive."
