Young gun Sam Toner has signed on for another year with the VFL Tigers, seeing him return to the Swinburne Centre for the 2026 season.
Toner made his VFL debut in the side’s thrilling Round 1 win over Coburg this year and went on to become a mainstay in the side’s forward line.
The energetic small forward brought his elite speed and leaping mark to the attacking end, proving to be a crucial part of the team's success this season.
Toner solidified himself as a highly prospected junior during his time with the Narre Warren Football Club and Dandenong Stingrays, and earned himself a spot on Richmond’s VFL list at the end of the 2024 season.
Toner's elite agility and strong goal sense were on full display in the side’s epic Wildcard Final against the Giants, recording 16 disposals, five marks, one tackle and one goal.
The 20-year-old kicked his first VFL goal in Richmond’s Round 14 win over the Northern Bullants, accumulating seven disposals, four marks and three tackles.
Tiger fans can look forward to seeing the energetic forward booting more goals in 2026.
