With 29 goals from 20 games, and an eighth placing in the Jack Dyer Medal, Shane Edwards was a more than handy performer for Richmond in season 2012.

The Tigers, however, feel Edwards is capable of taking his game to an even higher level this season.

“He’s had his knockers in the past, but we’ve always had a strong beliefin ‘Sheds since he’s been at the Club,” Richmond’s star midfielder andvice-captain, Brett Deledio, said on SEN.

“Some of the things hedoes, his vision, and his ability to turn the opposition inside out . . .he’s really good at that sort of stuff.

“But I think now he’s got a bit more confidence in his body, his running ability and his strength over the footy.

“So, we’re hoping for a big year from Shane.”

Edwards, 24, has played 109 games and kicked 68 goals since making his senior league debut with Richmond in 2007.
