The vast improvement in the defensive side of Richmond’s game this season is further highlighted by the fact that in its past six wins, only once has the opposition managed to score double-figure goals.

Richmond has conceded a total of just 48 goals in those six victories, with Adelaide’s 10.12 (72) being the highest score kicked against it in that time.

The Tigers held West Coast to 8.14 (62) in their 41-point Round 10 win, Adelaide to 10.12 (72) in their 38-point Round 12 win, Western Bulldogs to 8.13 (61) in their 60-point Round 13 win, St Kilda to 8.7 (55) in their 64-point Round 14 win, Gold Coast to 6.8 (44) in their nine-point Round 16 win, and Fremantle to 8.9 (57) in their 27-point Round 17 win.

Only once has Richmond conceded 100 points in victory this season – against Carlton 14.17 (101) in the Round 1 clash at the MCG, which the Tigers won by five points.

Richmond is currently ranked No. 3 in the competition for points against, behind only Fremantle and Sydney.
